But the biggest takeaway most people have when looking at Cloudways is that customizable pay-as-you-go plans. They do not require a long contract period like other hosting services and they even allow you to perform the service (including an online site builder) for free.

But how does Cloudways rate for some of the only hosting providers out there?

In this hosting review, we put Cloudways to the test, running a series of tests to determine whether or not it is worth the hard-earned money.

Pros of Cloudways Hosting

1. Exceptional Uptime

Uptime is one of the most important factors for a hosting service. After all, the purpose of hosting your website is to make sure that people can access it.

That being said, it’s hard to log out on anything above a 99.9% claim. And if you look at the typical uptime of shared hosting providers, you’ll see that 100% uptime is not a standard thing, even among cloud providers.

Cloudways claimed 100% average uptime from us via their customer support live chat. then they need to test it successfully. In the last three months, they need not have had the slightest downtime, showing 100% uptime.

Complex customer service inquiries are often tracked by Cloudways via online ticketing. These are usually created by Cloudways staff or by the users themselves.

For that, however, you must have an account with Cloudways before starting any support. there is a free registration option, but you still need to provide some information before they talk to you.

For now, we are going to specialize in the particular experience we had speaking with a support representative.

Our customer service chat was immediately connected, and we got friendly and prompt responses.

We asked a two-part question to measure the effectiveness of the supporting response.

Abbas started directly in the first half of our question.

He partially answered our question about migration, ignoring the part about value. once we hit the question he was quick to reply and even provided us with a link. However, he did not address the last half of our question, so we repeated it.

In short, while it wasn’t the simplest live chat we’ve ever had, our questions were answered quickly and thus the conversation was helpful overall.

3. Proactive Monitoring

One feature that we love about the Cloudways shared hosting plan is proactive monitoring.

Basically, when the server or stack is down, Cloudways arrives bent to let you know.

They keep you updated as they begin to investigate the explanation of the matter.

Nobody wants to make sure their website goes down, but it happens. It is best to listen to the company first before you are successful in bending them. That way, the hosting service can let you know directly what the difficulty is, what is being done to handle it, and how long they think the problem will persist.

7. Free SSL Certificate Security

Security is vital, especially for a small business website. Your customers came to know that they will trust your site.

As such, many shared hosting providers offer Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates. While some make you buy this essential security update, Cloudways includes it for free.

You can get support back if you pay more.
Support is important and tons of successful companies endorsed their customer service effectiveness.

We think it’s wrong to charge extra money for better support.

Cloudways has three levels of support. they are Standard, Advanced, and Premium

  • The basic alternative is free and includes live chat, self-service software, support for platforms, and support for infrastructure. Proactive monitoring alerts are issued, but that’s it. there is 3-hour ticketing pending high priority issues.
  • The Advanced level has everything included within the Standard option. Add a 30-minute ticketing system for top priority issues. It also includes customization support and starts at $ 100 per month.
  • Premium Support has a 10-minute ticketing reaction time for top priority issues. It also grants access to a personal Slack channel and phone support. This starts at $ 500 per month.

2. No Domain Registration

You cannot register a domain with Cloudways if you are creating a new website.

With a third-party site like GoDaddy, it should be done. It can be difficult to direct the URLs to the hosting settings on top of that.

Hosting is also provided by many third-party domain providers. It may be easier for people to use a service on the same site that allows it to be completed.

3. Extra Cost for Email

Another service that hosting providers want to add for free is email accounts.

Email services are not included with Cloudways. If you want branded email through Cloudways hosting, you need to run a service called RackSpace.

Charges $ 1 per email account per month. While this is not a huge amount, it can add up for larger companies with about 100 employees.

Most hosting services provide some level of email services even through their most basic plans.

Do We Recommend Cloudways?

Yes.

CloudWays delivered fast page load speed and incredible uptime with no downtime during the 3 month trial period and we have high hopes for the next few months as well.

We were also huge fans of their responsive programs and security solutions for surveillance.

While we don’t like their tiered network, live chat support is available even on the free tier, and it’s super effective.

All in all, this is often an honest service with a good variety of plans to decide on.
