People who compute on vacation don’t need anything impressive. I even have a hard time going to the gym when I’m not on vacation; The idea of dragging my butt away from the beach, or the mountains, or [insert your chosen vacation destination here], to do some cardio is almost unfathomable to me.
However, my problem is not only motivational, it is also logistical. There are some cases (albeit rare) in which I have found myself thinking: do you recognize what would be good at this point? Making me sweat. But whenever I have, I have found myself completely off guard; I hardly ever pack training gear or clothing; sometimes I don’t even pack a pair of tennis shoes. (I recently learned that some hotel chains, including Westin and Fairmont, will loan you exercise equipment, including slippers, during your stay. Good to understand.)
But people manage. Some real bonafide humans compute on vacation and who do it regularly. They have discovered what fitness-focused things are worth tossing in their bags and what is worth leaving behind; There is a joyous medium between being woefully unprepared and trying to pack an entire gym in your bag, and they have found it.
These folks have put together a list of 27 easy-to-pack products that make vacationing smarter, no matter where you are.
Body Glide, a chafing-relieving balm, is always a good idea to have on hand. You never know how your body will react in a different environment; you may sweat more or your clothes may brush against you differently. It’s usually preferable to be prepared for pain while performing something physically demanding. I try to keep a bottle with me so that I don’t have to go back and forth to the source of drinking water. As a former seamstress, I enjoy wearing excellent athletic apparel. I aim to bring workout tops that are both practical (simple to scrub in a hotel sink, quick to dry, etc.) and attractive enough to be worn as regular attire. My TRX is one of my favorite pieces of equipment. It’s a fantastic tool for increasing strength and adaptability, and you’ll be able to use it almost anyplace. I mean it when I say put it on a bedroom door or a tree and start there. It also takes up very little space in your suitcase and is very light. Small Free Weights
If I’m staying in a dorm or guest room rather than taking a class, I usually carry a set of sun weights. Mandie Brice, a 36-year-old blogger who exercises six days per week (regardless of travel)

If I’m going to a place with a pool, I make sure I’ve dressed appropriately: a swimsuit, goggles, and a swimming cap. Then, instead of performing some other form of exercise, I’ll swim laps for 30 to 45 minutes. Lisa Doggett, 44, is a doctor who works out for a day while on the road.
I affirm that I will be using my lifting gloves, which are ideal for lifting heavy goods. Because of their small size, they don’t take up much room in my suitcase and are quite beneficial throughout my workouts. Nina Watson, a 37-year-old doctor on vacation, works out every day.
I only bring a few sports bras and a pair of shorts or leggings. That’s all you need at times. Kristen Brown, 32, is a photographer who “gets in as much exercise as she can” when on vacation.
SPRI Sponge Ball
The SPRI sponge ball is one of my favorite items to have with me. Because it is usually deflated and inflated later with a straw, it is lightweight and easy to pack. Alexi Sherrill, a 45-year-old personal trainer, takes nearly a week off each week.
I always make sure I’m using a travel-size deodorant. Noa Arias, a 38-year-old marketer who exercises out every other day when she’s on the road.
I bring a minimum of three or four training sets, including socks. Nicole Johnson, 44, owner of a corporation that exercises at least every other vacation day
I’ll bring a little foam roller with me if I’m traveling with a suitcase (rather than simply a carry-on). Gina Bambinelli, 37, is a fitness influencer who works out at least five times a week.
iPad, Phone, or Laptop
All I need are some workout clothing, an internet connection, and a phone, iPad, or computer to watch workout videos on. Kristen Brown is a model and actress.
