Perfect Privacy VPN Review In 2021: Features, Pricing & More!

Perfect Privacy VPN (review) may be a recognizable name.

We use several of their free privacy services to view other VPN connections and proxy servers, as an example.

But at this point, we are turning the table to determine if their encryption and protocol offerings are up to par.

Perfect Privacy Pros

Perfect Privacy won’t let us down, offering best-in-class encryption protocols and options. Their registration policy is legitimate, the connection is leak-free, and the app is easy to use.

Here’s a quick rundown of its positives.

Industry-Standard Protocols And Encryption

Perfect Privacy starts out strong, offering the OpenVPN protocol, along with IPSec and SSH, in addition to SOCKS5 and PPTP proxies.

OpenVPN should be your default choice in most cases, as it offers bank-grade 256-bit encryption. no one has been prepared to pass this solid standard. And no one will do it in the near future. It could even take decades to today’s supercomputers. So don’t expect it anytime soon.

The other protocol alternatives are suitable for devices that are outdated or incompatible. Less-cost computers, for example, will not be capable of running OpenVPN. Whereas, IPSec is frequently used on iOS devices.

Zero Log Policy

Perfect Privacy‘s no-logs policy is also devoid of any ominous technical jargon. (Do you see where I’m going with this?)

Many other VPN companies will use fancy legal jargon to offer themselves some flexibility. That way, users will not understand what they are agreeing to. Or they will be powerless to prevent the company from using your personal data as they please.

However, that’s not even the worst part.

Because repeatedly, once you dig beyond the surface of a VPN’s terms and privacy policy, you’ll find out they are found in their logging policies.

Fortunately, you don’t have that problem with Perfect Privacy.

Virus And Leak-Free Connection

We use Perfect Privacy‘s free IP verification to make sure every VPN connection is telling the truth.

Because of this, some connections will inadvertently “leak” your genuine IP address right in front of your eyes. This obviously undermines the need for a VPN in the first place.

So at this point, we turn the tables.

We double-checked the Perfect Privacy connection in several different tests. and that they came out clean in all cases.

The other positive aspect we found was that no potential viruses or malware appeared in its installation files either.

This is great news, considering that a couple of other VPNs we’ve reviewed, like StrongVPN, for example, have produced up to three viruses in their installation files.

It would be a complete disaster to pay for a VPN just to have it infect your device with viruses. (Not to mention a complete waste of money.)

You can rest easy knowing that you are safe with Perfect Privacy.

Easy To Use The App

Not all VPN apps work perfectly.

Hopefully, some or all are quite simple. Just turn it on, select a server, and hit “Connect”.

Simple as that, right? What could go wrong?

Well … tons in some cases, apparently.

Take Azire and SlickVPN. they all crashed multiple times once we tried them.

In fact, it took up to 2 HOURS to connect successfully.

Fortunately, Perfect Privacy was very easy in comparison.

Its application is extremely minimal and simple. there have been no bells and whistles:

The options allow you to vary the protocols or switch servers. Once it’s up and running you’ll run it from the taskbar as well, so the client is hidden in the main part (unless you want to).

We did not find any major problems with your application.

But we had a couple of minor inconveniences.

First, the server change can take up to thirty seconds. A bit long compared to the instant experience we had with other VPNs.

Second, the application interface was somewhat dated. I know – totally minor. I still felt strange.

These are not murderers. Just things to remember before purchasing a full year of service.

However, the end will be positive.

The Perfect Privacy app also includes a switch to ensure that your browsing session is not exposed when your internet connection is unexpectedly interrupted.

More

Interestingly, they also offer you three different levels with it:

  1. While the tunnel is active (only VPN is connected in activated mode)
  2. While the program is active (on mode when the software is running)
  3. Permanent (works even when the software is turned off)

We also tested this feature and confirmed that it worked as promised.

For example, we activate the “second” level and then we try to access the web. No dice:

The kill switch seems to be working perfectly.

Respectable Customer Support

Perfect Privacy provides help in the form of a FAQ section, a forum, and an email address.

There is no live chat available.

The FAQ page is good for finding simple answers to common questions. The forum is decent too.

But you are going to need email help for complex problems.

We launched a message at 10:25 pm one night to check both (1) quality and (2) speed.

A reply email reached our inbox almost exactly twelve hours later at 10:29 a.m. M.

For email or ticket-based support systems, this isn’t terrible.

His answer was simple but direct. They asked a couple of follow-up questions and then we were ready to get a solution pretty quickly.

customer support reply

It was a real back and forth conversation, against some VPN companies trying to automate the method with a bot or just copy and paste some support links into the body of the email.

The other thing I liked is that Perfect Privacy will even set up TeamViewer to share the screen to help solve technical problems. So it looks like they will go the extra mile to help you.

Netflix Seems To Figure, For Now …

Perfect Privacy prides itself on that: “Privacy.”

Nowhere on their site will you discover proud proclamations promoting Netflix-compatible servers.

And there is a reason for that.

We checked five of their servers and discovered that just one of them supported Netflix. Five times out of five, Netflix’s dreaded black screen Death appeared:

  • US Washington Server: Not Working
  • US NY server
  • UK server: not working
  • Canada server – not working
  • The Netherlands server – working

If you want a VPN exclusively for Netflix, consider looking for something on this list.

Perfect Privacy Cons

Perfect Privacy got off to a good start.

But they had trouble keeping up at the finish line.

Server speeds began to slow.

Then they completely dropped the Netflix ball.

Last but not least, the number of servers and device compatibility ruined an otherwise good thing.

Server Speeds Are Consistently Slow

One of our favorite VPNs zeroes out its server speeds.

See, encryption often comes at a price.

It doesn’t matter how secure a connection maybe if everyday use is virtually impossible.

This is also one of the main areas where we see an otherwise robust VPN start to fail.

So it had been with Perfect Privacy.

Things started well. We were positive.

Then the speed test results started coming in.

And the combined Perfect Privacy score was set to place them in fourth place (out of 78).

Placed within the top 10, easily.

Our initial test results showed a download speed of 98.71 Mbps and an upload speed of 53 Mbps. Strong yet not suffocating.

Speed without VPN

Next, we connected to an ideal privacy server within the Netherlands, and this is what we saw:

netherlands speedtest
  • Download: 62.21 Mbps (35% slower)
  • Upload: 18.62 Mbps (64% slower)

It is not a convincing start.

We then connected to a New York-based US server, and things swiftly deteriorated:

us speedtest
  • Download: 32.78 Mbps (67% slower)
  • Upload: 33.27 Mbps (37% slower)

Pretty “meh” overall to be honest.

It’s not terrible, but it’s also not the highest with the likes of ExpressVPN.

Torrent Allowed, But Limited

Torrenting is easy to use, but not always privacy-friendly.

Connect to a huge amount of | such a large amount of | so many other “> ambiguous devices on a large network can leave you exposed. Therefore, a VPN becomes an important security product if you are a major torrent.

Article: Perfect Privacy VPN Review In 2021

The problem is that, although Perfect Privacy allows you to download torrents, they only do it on their “premium dedicated servers” (read: the most expensive). This is usually a bummer considering that many other VPNs will simply offer you full, unlimited torrents on all of their servers for an equivalent standard price.

Low Server Network

Perfect Privacy has more than 55 servers in 26 countries.

Not many, to be honest.

Especially once you compare it to the thousands of servers that NordVPN or maybe PIA provides.

A low total number of servers results in a poor user experience for a number of reasons.

The first is practical:

You have more users chasing a few equivalent servers.

This results in resources being spread out and as a result slow speeds.

The second theme is proximity.

The further you are from the Connection Server, the more severe performance you will expect.

And, to begin with, your VPN only covers 26 countries? To succeed at the nearest one, you may need to jump through numerous barriers.

Either way, the already slow server speeds that we saw on Perfect Privacy will likely only get worse.

Located Within A 5-eye Cooperative Jurisdiction

Switzerland enjoys a reputation for privacy.

And that’s true here too, for the most part.

However, there is a small wrinkle:

The Swiss can (and will) cooperate with the Five Eyes security alliance if necessary.

If you are not doing anything wrong? You are safe.

If you are walking a fine line? It would be better to go for a VPN with a totally isolated jurisdiction so that you can’t run into any of those problems.

We will admit that the likelihood of Perfect Privacy being forced to cooperate is quite low.

But if it only takes a small and wide opportunity to possess your personal data and find it in security databases around the world, it is worth reconsidering.

Disappointing device compatibility

Perfect Privacy offers to set up tutorials for a variety of devices, including:

  • Mac: via OpenVPN and Tunnelbrick also as a native app (easy to align)
  • iOS: via IPsec protocol (easy to align)
  • Linux: via IPsec and OpenVPN
  • Android: via IPsec and native application
  • IPTV – AppleTV, SmartTV, Satellite TV, Playstation, XBox
  • Routers – Custom Discovered (Guide Here)

You can even connect unlimited devices on one plan! That’s great, considering other companies may offer you three to five devices at a time. you will even use Tor as well.

So what could be the problem?

They can do better when it comes to devising compatibility. While they typically only have out-of-the-box apps for Windows devices, they now have apps for Android and macOS. Still, more needs to be done when it comes to devise compatibility.

Do you know everyone else on the list above? You will need to use workarounds, like fixing the OpenVPN option, first, before manually creating your connection.

What if you don’t know your DNS for your ports? Good luck.

Too much manual work in our eyes. Especially compared to the price …

Perfect Privacy Plans, Pricing, and Payment Options

Perfect Privacy pricing
Article: Perfect Privacy VPN Review In 2021

Perfect Privacy has several plans, but the main difference is that the term and the price. Here’s a quick list, along with prices in USD at February 2019 exchange rates:

  • 1 month – $ 12.99
  • 1 Year – Save 23% – $ 119.99
  • 2 Years – Save 31% – $ 214.95

The payment options are extremely versatile. you will pay with a wide range of options such as PayPal, Bitcoin, Mobiamo, Visa and Mastercard, Amex, and UnionPay.

If you want old-school anonymity, you’ll even pay cash by sending your money in a hidden envelope to a foreign address in Latvia. (It is not a joke.)

Perfect Privacy offers a seven-day money-back guarantee. Except, if you pay in cash or Bitcoin. Anonymous payment methods are great for privacy. It is not so good to get a refund.

Do You Recommend Perfect Privacy?

Hard to say …

Not that they bombed anyone. They weren’t the worst VPN we’ve ever tried.

But at the peak of the day, you simply need a VPN.

And there have been too many holes to miss.

Consider the very fact that speeds were consistently slow, barely reaching twenty-four countries, Netflix doesn’t work in all of them, and anyone who isn’t a Linux or Windows user will have to set up their own manual connections.

Also, current costs, whether thanks to the exchange rate or not, place them among the most expensive providers we’ve reviewed.

There were some positives. The leak-free and virus-free connections were excellent. The protocols and encryptions were top-notch. The app was easy to use and the customer support was good too.
