This is a review of VPNSecure. I sought to be as objective as possible, despite having read some fascinating stuff about this service provider. I looked into its tempo, logging policy, and other features…
VPNSecure was established in Australia( 2010 ) by VPNSecure Pty Ltd.
So they have been around for a minimum of seven years.
VPNSecure. I press the claim that they do not collect user logs directly on their home page.
In this VPNSecure review, I will be able to find out if the service is as secure and personal as it claims to be.
I’ll even describe the pros and cons of this VPN to offer you a final and definitive recommendation (or not).
But before we delve into the pros and cons, here is some background on VPNSecure.me.
|OVERALL RANK:||#3 out of 78 VPNs|
|USABILITY:||Easy to install and use|
|LOG FILES:||No Logging Policy|
|LOCATIONS:||48 countries, 72 servers|
|SUPPORT:||Live Chat, Good Quality Service|
|ENCRYPTION/PROTOCOL:||Offers 3 types: AES- 256, AES-128, DES-CBC OpenVPN and more|
The live chat service that emerged automatically when I visited the VPNSecure website was one of the first things I found.
This is what the VPN’s home page looks like:
It’s easy to use, displays VPN capabilities, and has a professional appearance.
VPNSecure does just that. On their website, I tell about them:
On the surface, that sounds fantastic.
Unfortunately, you can’t always trust what companies say about themselves on the front page. So before I signed up and paid for the service, I did some research online.
On the Internet, conversations about VPNSecure are quite mixed.
I tried Netflix for myself, personally, within the pros and cons below. Read on to find out if they recognized that you used to use VPNSecure or not.
For example, other VPN services are hosted in places like the Caribbean or perhaps Switzerland.
As a result, such governments generally place fewer constraints on each corporation. They need greater discretion over what is reported, recorded, or turned over to authorities.
Let’s look at some of the functionality VPNSecure has to sell.
Compatibility & Features
VPNSecure offers a variety of protocols, as well as WiFi security.
This VPN is compatible with the following devices and operating systems:
VPNSecure is also compatible with the DD-WRT and Tomato routers, as well as any OpenVPN router.
This VPN works on up to five devices simultaneously, which can be a great advantage of this service.
Many other VPNs that I have reviewed will try to limit you at a particular point. for example, they might only allow you to connect to three devices along with your plan.
Another makes you pay for the devices you would like to connect. So even plugging in a couple of in your home or office will start popping up quickly.
VPNSecure provides 80 servers in 50 countries. That’s like the low-mid range once you compare it to the opposite VPN services.
ExpressVPN, for example, has thousands of servers in most major cities and countries around the world.
VPNSecure also offers a kill switch, so your information and privacy will be protected if something happens to your connection while using this VPN.
This feature is essential if a rustic resides (or is visiting) with strict censorship laws. a nasty public WiFi connection could put you in danger by revealing all your personal information in seconds.
Interrupt switches prevent that from happening by providing you with a handy Plan B.
But what proportion makes you back down? This is how VPNSecure plans and prices appear.
Costs & Plans Options
VPNSecure offers a 7-day money-back guarantee out of the box.
That’s the lowest of the pack from what I’ve seen. Some VPNs offer 15 days, while others go up to a full 30 days.
Otherwise, your paid plans are available in one-month, six-month, and 12-month options.
Each package is identical in terms of features and total servers offered. therefore, the price difference only depends on how long you would like to pay in advance.
The one-month package costs $ 9.95 per month.
This costs $ 119.40 per year (if you never upgrade).
That’s expensive, so use this to decide to try the service before committing. you will buy a month or two and then upgrade to the yearly option to get a big discount.
The six-month package costs $ 8.33 per month.
In total, this second option costs $ 49.95. You will save almost $ 20 if you select this plan instead of the month at the end of the day.
The 12-month package costs $ 6.66 per month.
The 12-month plan is clearly the simplest value. If you recognize that you would like to use VPNSecure at the end of the day, be sure to travel with this plan instead of the other option.
How pricing plans are on their website:
And they also offer two more advanced packages if you are trying to find a PPTP or HTTP Proxy plan.
Both plans include access to all or any of the servers, PPTP, anonymous access, and no registration.
However, a word of caution.
I would not recommend that you go through these advanced options unless you recognize what you are doing.
For eg, PPTP is less stable than OpenVPN. When it comes to cryptography, it is old and out of date. So, in an hour or two, people are able to crack it.
When you are unsure, proceed with an OpenVPN connection.
Payment options for all plans include:
- perfect money
- Credit card
Now that we’ve gone over the features and pricing of VPNSecure, let’s mention the pros and cons of the service.
This VPN offers some top-notch features, especially when it comes to your security.
Good Security & Privacy
Security and privacy are the main things I check when considering any VPN that I can trust my data on.
VPNSecure’s privacy features are the best.
VPNSecure offers three different types of encryption:
AES encryption is top of the line. it will also upgrade or downgrade depending on what your goals are or where you are.
Both AES-128 and 256, for example, are extremely stable. However, the latter provides an additional layer of defense, making it much more difficult to destroy, while the former is perhaps easier.
Brute force attacks are among the most common because they are so easy to eliminate. See, they even have a hacking tutorial on Udemy about it!
A dictionary attack is a perfect example. All you do is literally go through all the letters of the alphabet to get started and guess your passwords.
Once it reaches the top, add two digits (like “AA”, “AB”, etc.). Almost no skill is required in something like this. you just need an easy program to run it for you.
However, AES-256 is essentially impenetrable. There are no known security breaches or successful hacks, so you can be sure that your data will be safe behind its secure encryption.
VPNSecure also offers DNS leak protection, UDP leak protection, and IPv6 leak protection.
Is Torrenting Allowed?
Torrenting with this VPN is allowed on 90% of servers.
Torrenting with a VPN may seem like a stretch. After all, they are providing similar services.
However, using them together makes a lot of sense once you create it.
Torrents are mainly used to download content quickly. But they don’t always have an equivalent level of security.
So even though your private information may remain private, it is not necessarily protected against the evil actors out there.
VPNSecure claims over and over on their site that they need a really strict no-logging policy.
Unfortunately, this bold claim has misled me before.
Also, no registration only applies to subsequent data types, according to the VPNSecure.me website:
- IP address NOT registered
- Connection timestamp NOT registered
- Disconnect timestamp is NOT registered
- Bandwidth used NOT recorded
- DNS requests NOT logged
The company also retains your email address, username, and password, but insists that your password is encrypted using AES 2048-bit encryption.
So in most cases it should be fine. Just remember that there might be someone still looking around.
The App’s Usability Is Excellent
I was surprised by how easy VPNSecure was to download and use.
On the VPNSecure website, simply select the device you want to install on the service and you can download it.
Once you have downloaded the software, you will be asked to log in.
From there, you will see a nice interface that looks like this:
If you disconnect, the banner will show that you are simply not connected anymore at the top of the screen. it will also search for a server using the search bar.
Your IP address, current location, and membership form are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The usability of this service is not difficult or complicated in the least, so the search bar adds a nice touch.
Overall, I would give it an 8/10 for usability. Pretty good for VPN beginners or newbies.
Good Customer Support
VPNSecure uses live chat for customer support.
If you remember, it had been one of the main belongings you see when visiting your site.
So I made the decision to put them to the test.
Another VPN I reviewed had a “live” chat option which was the complete opposite. It took hours and hours to finally give me an answer.
Fortunately, VPNSecure was more aware.
Once you are at the location, a live support chat will automatically appear that you can simply minimize.
Here is the question I posted:
I soon found an answer.
Nick was helpful, fast, and friendly. I don’t even think I had to attend the full 30 seconds to get the answer from him.
Live chat can generally succeed or fail because many businesses use bots or take forever to respond.
Not this VPN.
Overall, VPNSecure’s standard of customer service was outstanding.
Cost Starting From $6.66/mo
Pricing plans for VPNSecure are pretty easy to navigate.
The basic plan with the simplest value is $ 6.66 per month, and the advanced plans are even cheaper than that.
Considering that you can simply access this VPN from as many devices as you want for this price, you could definitely say that it is worth the cost.
There are a couple of others, like PIA, that will offer you a much better long-term discount if you’re willing to pay upfront.
However, most of these will have some limitations on the number of devices you use. Therefore, you would possibly hit a limit at a particular point and need to obtain additional accounts.
2 out 5 Servers Works During Netflix
Netflix has cracked down on VPN services in recent years.
They have been aggressively pursuing new VPN services and have come up with new ways to detect if people are using them to bypass geo-restrictions.
And that is incredibly frustrating for many users. Pay good money to stream content legally. However, due to some random location licensing issues, you are effectively prevented from getting all your money’s worth.
Therefore, access to Netflix is usually at the top of my list.
I used VPNSecure to log into a server outside of Mexico and decided to put it to the test.
Initially, everything looked great. The new programs appeared almost instantly.
But once I tried to play them, Netflix knew that I used to be using a VPN and denied me access to stream any video.
Journal. This same cycle was repeated on subsequent servers:
But good news.
We were ready to successfully stream Netflix content on the following two servers:
Overall, that performance puts him like a pro. And it gives them a positive spot on our best Netflix VPNs.
I was quite satisfied with most of what VPNSecure had to offer.
But there have been a couple of issues I had while digging below the surface.
Here’s a quick rundown of all the downsides to be aware of when using their service.
Slower Than Average VPNs
Every VPN will boast of its connection speeds.
But the reality is not always so clear.
VPNSecure also boasts of its fast connection speeds. So I used to want to test how fast they really are.
These are the results of my speed tests:
- Ping: 117 ms
- Download: 27.18 Mbps
- Upload: 24.50 Mbps
- Ping: 37 ms
- Download: 53.62 Mbps
- Upload: 45.50 Mbps
Hong Kong Server
- Ping: 429 ms
- Download: 1.74 Mbps
- Upload: 1.49 Mbps
To be honest, I almost thought something was wrong on the last test or that I initially made a mistake. It seemed too slow to be exact.
This kind of inconsistency would be frustrating for many users, so I cannot consider connection speed to be an advantage.
Do We Recommend VPNSecure?
Yes and no.
VPNSecure offers some nice extra features and packages, a kind of kill switch, and lots of different leak protections.
I love that you can simply choose your encryption and customize each decision to suit your needs. Also, security and privacy are excellent.
The price is worth it because it will connect as many devices as you want to the current VPN. that effectively creates it a touch cheaper than other comparable alternatives out there.
I was very pleased with your fast and friendly customer service. it had been one of the easiest experiences I had ever had.
Also, two out of every 5 servers were running Netflix. Very good proportion these days!
However, there have been a couple of drawbacks, unfortunately.
Connection speeds were inconsistent. They range from good to medium to horrible.
Overall, VPNSecure gets a lead at 12th out of 78. Not terrible by any means. However, they are also not in the top 10 VPNs that I would recommend. So go ahead and get NordVPN, Surfshark, or ExpressVPN, you won’t regret it.
